Whenever I find myself struggling to get my daily water intake I always turn to detox water or infused water. The flavors are so much more enticing and refreshing, especially during the spring and summer when you want something fruity. So here are a few of my favorite flavors to try!
Lemon, Ginger, & Cucumber
Slice up a fresh lemon and cucumber and add to a pitcher of water. Then I take a hunk of ginger root, minus the peel, and slice or grate it into small pieces and add it as well.
It’s so good! The lemon and ginger have a detoxing effect, while the cucumber makes it even more refreshing. I prefer this mix ice cold but it is good room temperature as well.
Lemon & Strawberry
Again just slice up a lemon and a few strawberries then add to a pitcher of water. This one is sweet and citrusy, and it makes your water pink! This is definitely my favorite one for summer.
Strawberry & Basil
This one sounds a little odd but give it a try. You only need a couple basil leaves for a whole pitcher, then slice up as many strawberries as you like.
Pineapple & Cantaloupe
This one is so bright and summery! And the colors are really pretty together, especially if you pack the pitcher with enough ice to create layers with the fruit. This one does need a little extra time to sit and let the flavors meld in my opinion.
Citrus Medley
Combine slices of lemon, lime, and orange for a balanced citrus water. The lemons and limes are tangy while the orange adds some sweet notes.
Try adding a sprig of mint for an even more refreshing pick me up!
Strawberry & Orange
Combine sliced strawberries and oranges in a pitcher for a lightly sweet infused water. This one makes for a pretty color combination as well.
There are soooo many possibilities out there, but these have been my personal favorites. So mix it up and make your own! Happy sipping!
